The planning and research that I will be doing are as followed:
- Front Cover Textual Analysis: This will contain me analysing a front cover and looking at the denotations and conventions of it.
- Conventions Diagram: Identifying the conventions needed for a front cover of a magazine, what each magazine must contain.
- Contents Page Conventions Diagram: Identifying the conventions needed for a contents page of a magazine, the basics.
- Double Page Spread Textual Analysis: Identifying the denotations and connotations for a double page spread of a magazine.
- Double Page Spread Conventions Diagram: Stating the conventions needed for a double page spread.
- Audience Research: Finding out what people would want to see in a magazine that I was creating E.G the name of the magazine.
- Profiling Your Audience: Finding out information about the audience, what their interests are.
- Case Study of a Publishing House: Research on existing magazines and how they are successful in catching their audience.
- Mood Board: A collection of images which would represent my magazine and what type of genre it was.
- FC, CP, DPS Mock Ups: Drawings drafts of my magazine pages so I knew what to do before starting my magazine on photoshop.
- Unmanipulated Photos: Pictures that I would take and leave unedited which I would then use in my magazine.
I am also going to be using photoshop throughout this unit, I have past experience with it so I expect it to not be too difficult. The genre for my magazine that I have chosen is R&B because it listen to it alot so I have more of a background knowledge on what my magazine would be containing.
